What Lycée National adds to the official curriculum: skills, certifications and access to university.
01
Programmes
UCMAS
Abacus-based mental arithmetic from primary school — and two national first places.
A mental-arithmetic programme introduced in the primary grades. Lycée National has won it twice nationally, in competitions held at the UNESCO Palace under the patronage of the Ministry of Education.
Ali Khalil Mazihem took first place and represented Lebanon at the UCMAS world competition in Malaysia. Marwan Moawwiya won first place in the Elementary A category at the fourth national mental-arithmetic competition on 13 May 2017, and qualified for the world final in Bali.
Little Engineer
Construction, robotics and applied logic, alongside the official curriculum.
Introduced the same year as UCMAS, Little Engineer extends the science curriculum through construction and applied-logic workshops.
It feeds directly into the projects shown at science fairs — among them “Light Center” and “Runway Safety Clearing System”, which earned their authors full scholarships from the Arab University.
STEAM
Science fairs, contests and interdisciplinary projects across the three campuses.
Lycée National runs its own STEAM fairs and science contests, documented on its video channel, and enters its projects into university competitions.
In February 2026 the school took part in the LAU workshop “Designing Multidisciplinary Learning Experiences”, led by Ms Sarah Zebian, Vice President for Educational Affairs.
Model United Nations
Award-winning delegations since 2012, and global awards in 2026.
Lycée National students have represented national delegations since at least 2012, when the school entered the “GC LAU MUN National Project” as the delegation of Fiji and Chad, winning the Position Paper and Diplomacy awards at both secondary and intermediate level.
In 2026 the school was distinguished again — “MUN Global Awards” in January, “Outstanding MUN Achievers” in July.
Digital certifications
Internationally recognised digital-skills and ICT certifications.
The school announces “Internationally Recognized Digital Skills & ICT Certifications” for its students, presented as skills that keep pace with their professional future.
The programme belongs to the same wave of announcements as the International Francophone Section and the university partnerships, in the summer of 2026.
Guidance & counselling
A dedicated office, a student class committee, and a test-preparation partnership.
Lycée National runs a Guidance and Counseling Office and Department and a Student Class Committee, both announced in May 2026.
A partnership with the Test Prep Institute completes the setup for university entrance-exam preparation — an area where the school posts notable results, including scholarships won on SAT performance alone.
